Our Story

Danish Renewables is a sustainable energy company originating in Copenhagen in 2017 established by our founder, Esben Christensen. The company was founded with more than 10 years of experience with renewable energy project development coupled with a desire to take part in developing projects not only in the places where it is the easiest, but also in the places where it is most needed.

Danish Renewables is committed to the transformation of the world’s energy mix from fossil fuels to renewable energy such as solar and wind power and to drive to get this transformation to be as widespread as possible.

We work for a better planet by developing renewable energy projects that are both environmentally and economically sustainable and built on respect towards the environment, investors and the local communities where we operate. 

CEO & Founder

Esben Kumke Christensen

Esben is the founder of Danish Renewables with more than 17 years of experience in the world of international renewable energy business development and transactions. The company was founded in 2017 with the desire to create a successfull business in renewable energy based on a strong core of integrity, sustainability and ambition to take renewable energy to places were it is most needed.

Code of conduct for Danish renewables

1. Compliance with laws and regulations: The company and its employees shall comply with all
applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards related to renewable energy.
2. Ethical conduct: The company and its employees shall conduct business with integrity,
honesty, and transparency, avoiding conflicts of interest and any behaviour that could damage the reputation of the company or the renewable energy sector. Furthermore, Danish Renewables have a no-tolerance policy towards corruption and bribery and expects all employees and business partners to report any unethical behaviour of such a nature.
3. Environmental responsibility: The company shall operate in an environmentally responsible
manner, minimizing its impact on the environment and promoting sustainable practices in all aspects of its operations.
4. Health and safety: The company shall prioritize the health and safety of its employees,
contractors, and customers, ensuring that they are protected from harm and that all work is
conducted in compliance with applicable health and safety regulations.
5. Respect for human rights: The company shall respect the human rights of all individuals
affected by its operations, including employees, contractors, customers, and local communities as well as providing equal opportunities for all employees and business partners no matter their age, gender, religion or race.
